Program Information/Mission

The mission of the Automotive Maintenance Specialist certificate program is to prepare students for employment as an express lane service technician. These positions would be found in automobile dealers, independent repair shops, fleet service shops, municipal garages, and oil change franchises.

Additional Program Information

Students participate in an internship during the program. Students are encouraged to take the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) exam for Maintenance and Light Repair, a certification program that qualifies the student as a technician worldwide.  See Program Chair for materials and resource requirement for program classes.

Students entering the program should have mechanical aptitude and be interested in mechanical work.
