Drug & Alcohol Counselor Training

GOAL 1 Students will demonstrate the knowledge to be employed as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor.

1. Students will be able to describe the role of the Drug and Alcohol Counselor.

2. Students will be able to identify the appropriate treatment plan for the client.

GOAL 2 Students will demonstrate the skills necessary to diagnose and treat clients.

1. Students will be able to communicate the treatment plan and rationale to the client.

2. Students will be able to analyze any client resistance to the proposed treatment plan.

GOAL 3 Students will demonstrate professional behavior as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor.

1. Students will be able to use formal professional language during client sessions.

2. Students will be able to demonstrate empathy and feedback.
